ill try to make this a regular thing, whenever i get the update lists by email. i'm sorry for the lenghth, but its important, and personally it is hopefully a tikkun for causing someone and maybe more people to eat nonkosher. Moderator, if its too long, can you divide it between two posts?

The following kashrus alert is from cRc on June 23, 2005.

Tropicana Twister Grape, Strawberry, Orange and Diet Orange soda are certified kosher. This applies only to the soda and NOT the Slurpee flavors of Tropicana Twister, which are NOT certified kosher.

The following kashrus alert is from cRc on June 23, 2005.

Banana Chips being packaged by Jack Tuchten with a sell date of December 18, 2005, or later, are no longer certified by the cRc. Please check each package for the cRc on the label.

The following kashrus alert is from COR on June 23, 2005.

Butcher's Choice Steak & Kebabs Marinade bearing COR 146 was inadvertently labeled without a "dairy" designation. This product contains dairy ingredients as noted on the ingredient declaration.

The following kashrus alert is from cRc dated June 8, 2005.

The new Mrs. Fields/Tcby Frozen Yogurt Cakes are only under the cRc supervision in original sealed box from the factory. Many TCBY stores open the boxes to personalize and decorate these cakes, which at that point the cRc no longer can guarantee its kosher status. The sealed boxes are kosher even when not bearing the cRc logo.

The following kashrus alert is from Star-K Keeping You Kurrent for June 20, 2005.

Rita's Italian Ices stores, have flavors that contain dairy ingredients and flavors that do not contain dairy ingredients. Customers should be aware that those flavors that do not include a dairy ingredient may, in fact, not be considered pareve, due to the fact that utensils may be shared between dairy and non-dairy flavors.

The following sulfite allergy alert is from FDA on June 20, 2005.

Setton International Foods, Inc., 85 Austin Blvd., Commack, NY 11725 is recalling Mariani Brand fancy golden raisins because it may contain undeclared sulfites. The recalled Mariani Brand fancy golden raisins are packed in 30-pound cardboard boxes, coded 5103D. The product was sold in the Long Island New York Metropolitan area. Consumers who have purchased Mariani Brand fancy golden raisins should return it to the place of purchase. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-800-CASHEWS (1-800-227-4397).

The following soy allergy alert is from FDA on June 20, 2005.

Barricini Candy of Moosic, PA is recalling:

690 cases (24,408 units) Catherine's Finest Pecan Caramel Clusters 8 oz.
85 cases (2,040 units) Shwom's Caramel Pecan Clusters 6 oz.
because it may contain undeclared soy nuts (soy). Catherine's Finest Pecan Clusters and Shwom's Caramel Pecan Clusters were distributed primarily in CA, MD, MI, NJ, NM, NC, OH, OR, TX, WA, through fund raising organizations. These candies are packaged in printed boxes with photos of pecans and chocolate pecan caramel clusters. Boxes are printed with Catherine's Finest Pecan Caramel Clusters 8 oz.; or Shwom's Caramel Pecan Clusters 6 oz. UPC 0 75655 00360 7. Consumers who have purchased either the Catherine's Finest Pecan Caramel Clusters or Shwom's Caramel Pecan Clusters are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. The following wheat allergy alert is from Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network on June 20, 2005.

Kemps LLC has recalled half-gallon packages of Kemps Bakery Classics French Silk Pie Ice Cream due to undeclared wheat. The product comes in half-gallon square paper packages, with a UPC code of "41483 00407." All code dates are affected. The recalled ice cream was distributed to retail supermarkets in Illinois, IN, IA, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, NE, ND, SD, TN, TX, and WI. Consumers who have purchased the product may return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact Kemps at (800) 726-6455.

The following kashrus alert is from a newspaper advertisement dated June 17, 2005.

Mama Mary's 12" Pizza Crust containing separate packets of tomato sauce (manufactured by Spartan Foods of America), was inadvertently lableled with a Kof-K. The product is NOT under Kof-K certification.

The following kashrus alert is from a newspaper advertisement dated June 17, 2005.

Due to kashrus violations, ksoehr certification of F.M.T. Mediterranean Food Corp., Brooklyn, NY is terminated. The Kof-K DOES NOT endorse any F.M.T. product.



• Café Del Mar in Valley Village, CA, is now certified by Kehilla Kosher- Rabbi Teichman. The restaurant is Cholov Yisroel and Pas Yisroel.
• Lang’s Loaf Bagels in San Diego is now a full service Dairy Restaurant certified by the Vaad of San Diego.
• “Got Kosher” packaged goods from L.A. are now certified by the Star-K
• Florida Tropic Mini Orange, Orange Break-A-Part and Sea Shells are O/Ud
• Fancy Foods Hearts of Palms is not authorized under the O/K kosher certification.
• Hanover Gold Line and Silver Line Frozen Broccoli are not certified by the O/U even when bearing the O/U symbol.
• A list of approved Half Moon K products reputedly from the CRC is not correct. The CRC does not endorse any listing of these products at this time. (Note: most agencies look at these products item by item).
• Frank’s Original Red Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce contains dairy and is listed as plain O/U.
• Specialty Dessert Shells bearing the O/U are correctly certified by the O/U. Those that do not bear the O/U are manufactured in a non kosher plant and are not kosher certified.
• Kraft Post Cereal “Alpha Bits” have changed from O/K parve to O/K DE.

I am posting just the URLs you gave for updates.(I replaced some of them with more direct and/or current ones)

(Note that _this_ 'cRc' is 'Chicago Rabbinical Council' and _not_ the Brooklyn-based 'Central Rabbinical Congress of the U.S. and Canada' (Hisachdus HaRabbonim) which has 'CRC' enclosed in an oval circle as its English kashrus-symbol.)

I think it might be better to just provide the links to where people can get the latest info. and not bother posting the alerts themselves here.

*- Regarding the Zemanim database featured at, I would urge people to use instead, as it is far superior.

taon, it should be mentioned that the star-k slupree list you posted is -(i'm pretty sure)-only for the us, and not other countries..
