He had irreversible cancer for 5 years and died at 67. Even when he knew he had no chance, he was still nice and intersted in the world around him. Even for me, the teenager next door, he had time to recommend books (once a teacher always a teacher?)
he had a complicated life, but he acted with integrity & had a nice word for everybody.
To look at him, walking his dog, he seemed like an ordinary man, but he had exceptional strength of character
