i come from not such a religous family and im trying to get better though my mother is still working on it she listens to not kosher music and it gets me so nervous i dont know what to do cause when i tell her to shut it off she flips out on me and i dont want to go inthe direction of not respecting my mother its a real emergency beacuse sometimes in school i start to sing the songs :(

Although its not so great for you, its important not to push her. Pushing people rarely achieves the wanted results.

It might be better not to fight her directly. Try listening more to your msuic or shiurim, maybe get headphones. When you're working you can ask her to turn the music off. If you catch yourself paying attention to the lyrics, mentally mock them

Hi! I had the same problem with my mother and every time I would tell her about the music she would be upset so I decided to tell her (very respectfuly) that I asked from her to turn off the music whenever I was with her (like in the car) and she did. You cant change what she does or the pace she grows and the key to be sucesfull in both, respecting them and growing yourself is to have RESPECT, you respect them and they respect you.
