K seriously I don't know what's wrong with me. I used to think of my self as and average student high 70s and 80s I still get those grades somtimes but latley whenever we get a test back and ALL of my friends are complaining "uch I did so bad I got an 89" but meanwhile I got a 70. It happens all the time latley, it never used to happen so I'm just wondering whats happening to me and if it happens to other people

Just cause you have smart people that complain about good grades in your class, it doesnt make you stupid.
I am a very bad test taker, but Ive been called smart before. So test scores cant make you smart or stupid.

yell them not to announce it- there are reasons why they tell us not to share grades or not say anything about them-might make other students feel bad, even in highschool

Livinthejewishway, (love the screen name, by the way!) the Maharal says that you should never let something external define who you are.
If you consider a 70 or 80 to be a good mark, then good for you! You are doing well!
Why should you allow other people's opinions cloud your our judgment? What do they have to do with anything?
Everybody has to set for themselves personal goals and aspirations. Depending on the person...it may vary. What I consider to be great and an achievement may be considered to be embarrassing to someone else. But who cares? As long as YOU are proud of yourself...that's amazing!
Never let someone else tell you who you are or what you are all about. That's for you to decide.
By the way, I am also very proud of you! It sounds like you are really trying...and accomplishing! Shkoyach! Good for you :)
By the way, smartness is not based or determined by your grades. Grades are just an outcome of how much time and effort you devoted to something. It's a consequence of your actions. It is not a result/proof of your abilities.
Albert Einstein testifies to that. He did horribly in school...but proved to be brilliant later on in life.
Whatever you set your mind to...you will do well (with Hashem's help, of course!) I am so confident in you. I support you.
The user name says it all...
