Our parents drive us nuts. But seriously. Learn to appreciate the good.
It takes one minute guys, just one minute, to change your life forever. Please everyone. Go home. Go give your father/mother a hug. Dont wait for Hashem to have to remind you how quickly things can go wrong.
It's not fun to be woken up to the words "Daddy collapsed and was taken to the hospital last night..." Its not fun to pretend that your Abba's ok when hes not, and its not fun to cry, and say youre not crying, and its not fun to smile, when youre not really smiling, and its not fun to pray, when youre praying for life.

i cant agree more. its not fun to say "bye mommy- i love u have a great shabbos! c u saturday night" and then friday afternoon ahve to come home instead of go away and hear "mommy went into cardiac arrest and then HaShem toook her neshama back to Him" appreiciate what u have - when u have it, not just after its gone!
helpmegrow Posted - 10 February 2004 14:08

No matter how nuts they drive you, you are so much better off.
was2frum Posted - 12 February 2004 14:28
i believe y'all, but sometimes i think to my self that even if s/t does c'v happen how much would i care, i mean i don't get along with them any ways

Smile-it makes ppl wonder what ur thinking

Punims Posted - 16 February 2004 18:50
In a way - for some ppl it isn't so good to go around hugging them thinking G-d forbid somethings going to happen. Sometimes I look at my mom and feel like crying - thinking - what if she wasn't here for me?? That's what I call paranoid - it's very unhealthy for some people...

was2frum - picture life G-d forbid REALLY without them - picture everyday things, not just the arguments..are there any good times? What parts of life would be EXTREMELY difficult without them?

Nelly Posted - 16 February 2004 18:50

even if u dont get along with your parents, it hurts so much 2 c your father [or mother] sick. u gotta trust me here, it hurts more than i can tell u. and u dont wanna have 2 learn.
no1cares Posted - 16 February 2004 18:50
was2frum, oh my gosh i feel the same way! i always wonder if i will even care if something happens to my parents! it kinda scares me but im not sure i will care. we really dont get along and sometimes i think id be better off with out them. the scary thing is my mother got sick with cancer not too long ago and i couldnt even find the feelings for her anymore to even care! and to tell u the truth if something would happen to me i dont think she would care either! i dont know what to do about it!
lay19 Posted - 16 February 2004 18:50
i think u would care- even if u dont get along w/ them. b/c there r sooo many things u dont even realize that they do. before every chag i realized "omg! i cant believe how much my mother had to do and she got it done! how can we?" and just every little tihng i realized i never appreciated even the little things b/c now thats what i miss most

It's so hard to watch a parent suffer.
It's so hard to try and daven, but find you dont know where Hashem went to.
It's so hard to beg time so slow down, because time has become the enemy.
It's so hard to smile when you arent really smiling.
It's so hard.
yideleh Posted - 03 March 2004 18:55
nelly, I had a sick parent at one point. For some reason, I didn't share it with anyone. It just made me enter a shell of depression and gloom. I know better now. Talking is the best thing. Sharing things with friends helps you thru it.
Plus I was away from home at the time, which made it so much harder cuz when you're not there and you just hear this and that, it's a lot scarier.
I should have had frumteens around then!
bruriaheww Posted - 03 March 2004 18:55
It's so hard to watch a parent suffer., or even to go thru so many tests, i hate it, and it's so hard to have a mother that u thought was ur mom, but shes just that by name....
imAtahMeamin Posted - 03 March 2004 18:55
and along with all that come the "if onlys".., they haunt you for a while..

*Nelly-is there a specific name we should say tehillim for?

silver Posted - 03 March 2004 18:55
It's so hard to watch a parent suffer but what we can do is help them through suffering with our love

It's so hard to try and daven, but find you dont know where Hashem went to. your right we dont know where hashem is but we just gotta keep up the faith

It's so hard to beg time to slow down, because time has become the enemy. we may think he is an enemy but thats life if there would be no time were would the worldbe

It's so hard to smile when you arent really smiling.thatss true but you gotta train yourself to try to think positively even if you arent smileing by the way did u know it takes more muscles to frown than to smile

It's so hard.-i know -im sorry - i feel the same but what would be the beauty in liveing if everything was easy as pie

Nelly Posted - 05 March 2004 15:24
yideleh- im sorry 2 hear that, is s/he ok now?

was2frum Posted - 14 March 2004 21:14

Smile-it makes ppl wonder what ur thinking
