I've heard that the kallah gives her chasan either a kiddush cup or a pair of cuff links in the yichud room, and that the chasan gives his kallah some type of jewelry.
To the marrieds out there: What did you do? Also, is there a typical price range that's used, or does it just depend on the couple?

i guess it depends on your circle. amongst my friends and family, while the chosson gives the kalla jewelry, there is no real stndard for what the kallah gives, and in my case, as with many people i know, i just gave him a meaningful (relatively inexpensive) gift - I wont go into the reasons why, but I gave my husband a plaque for our door with our last name on it. My friend's sister gave her husband a deep-fryer... go with your gut unless you are told of a specific custom.

my husband gave me pearls in the yichud room... i didn't give him anything. in fact, i never even heard of the kallah giving a gift to her chassan in the yichud room.

Btw, from someone who knows someone who works in a hall- there are security cameras in there
|soulrebel||Posted - 29 April 2011 1:19
I've heard that since they're starving from fasting all day, they eat. And hold hands
the other stuff comes after the wedding
just saying what I've overheard, never been in one

|lol =D||Posted - 04 May 2011 23:31

"security"? I don't know, if I ran a hall, I'd have someone search the room for peeping toms or psychos- no cameras!
I'm just repeating what I've heard from a reliable source- there are cameras. Logic dictates that they are on some of the time.
No wonder I always wanted to get married in a park!

they dont put cameras in the yichud room, they put them everywhere in hotels and places, for regular security purposes!! lol
A person is at their highest when they stoop down to help others- unknown
